How to create a new bank account in Xero?

  1. Log in to Xero.

  2. Go to the Accounting menu and select Bank accounts.

  3. Click Add Bank Account.

  4. Search for your bank name.

    • If you find your bank, select it and follow the setup prompts.

    • If not, click “Add it manually” at the bottom.

  5. If adding manually:

    • Enter a Bank Name (example: "Business Checking Bank").

    • Enter the Account Name you want to use inside Xero.

    • Optionally, enter the Account Number and Routing Number.

  6. Click Save.

    ✅ Your new bank account will now appear in your Chart of Accounts.

  7. Return to Propio and refresh the Chart of Accounts.

    • Go to the Clients section in Propio.

      • Use the search bar to find the client whose Chart of Accounts you updated.

      • Click the Settings icon (⚙️) on the right side of the client row.

        • In the top menu, click on Chart of Accounts.

          • Click the “Refresh Chart of Accounts” button.
