❓ Why don’t transfers get selected during bulk categorization?

Edited

When you try to categorize all transactions on a page using the “Select All” checkbox, Propio automatically excludes transfer-type transactions from the selection. This is intentional — and here's why:

🔄 How Propio handles transfers:

  1. Transfers require manual confirmation
Transfers move money between two bank accounts. To ensure accuracy, Propio needs you to confirm both sides of the transaction.

  2. Checkboxes are locked
Transfer transactions have their checkboxes disabled, so they can’t be sent to the ledger by mistake.

  3. You’ll see a dropdown instead
For each transfer, select the correct destination account using the category dropdown.

  4. Match the transaction
Propio will show you the matching transaction (same amount and date) from the other account.

  5. Click “Confirm”
Once confirmed, Propio automatically categorizes the transfer, removes it from the Pending tab, and moves it to the Categorized tab.

✏️ What if it’s not a transfer?

Sometimes Propio may mistakenly identify a transaction as a transfer when it’s actually a regular expense (e.g., gas, software, cost of goods).

Here’s how to correct it:

  1. Open the category dropdown
Choose the appropriate category (e.g., “Fuel” or “Cost of Goods”).

  2. Checkbox becomes active
Once recategorized, the checkbox will unlock automatically.

  3. Click “Save”
This transaction is now ready to be sent to the ledger like any other.
