Categorize Transactions in Bulk

When multiple transactions share the same category — such as recurring payments to the same vendor — bulk categorization lets you assign them all at once instead of one by one.

Steps

  1. Go to your client's Transactions page
  2. Check the checkbox on the left of each transaction you want to categorize together
  3. Click Actions → Categorize X transactions as... — the number shown confirms how many transactions will be updated
  4. In the next window, select the appropriate account from the category suggestions
  5. Click Categorize to apply the category to all selected transactions
  6. Click Post to finalize and save

💡 Tip: Bulk categorization pairs especially well with filters. Filter by vendor or description first to isolate a group of similar transactions, then select all and categorize in one go — a significant time saver during month-end close.
